RECIPE 1
Honey-Walnut Milk Soap
You need:

– Base Oils
– 5 oz. canola oil
– 15 oz. coconut oil
– 15 oz. olive oil
– 5 oz. safflower oil
– 5 oz. sunflower oil
– 12.6 oz. milk, frozen
– 6.4 oz. lye

Preparation:
– milk is at a frozen slushy state
– mix it with the lye
– very slowly mix the lye into the frozen milk slush
– mix everything together
– add 3 tablespoons of honey right before mixture reaches trace
– mix in 3 ounces of finely ground walnuts at trace
– let your soaps sit 4-6 weeks before using .

RECIPE 2
Coconut-Lime Soap

Base Oils
15 oz. coconut oil
15 oz. olive oil
8 oz. sunflower oil
6 oz. safflower oil

Lye Solution
14 oz. coconut milk (for more on soap-making with milk, click here)
6.25 oz. lye

Preparation:
– freeze the milk to at least a slushy state so the milk will not burn or curdle when mixed with the lye
– very slowly mix the lye into the frozen milk slush
– make the soup

Additives
– 2 oz. coconut-lime fragrance oil
– Lime zest
– chopped dried coconut

Note:
– let your soaps sit 6 weeks before using .

COLD PROCESS INSTRUCTIONS
Make your Lye Solution and Melt Down your Base Oils

– get your measuring pitcher
– put on rubber gloves, goggles & mask and wear long sleeves
– put the pitcher on a scale
– set the scale to 0 ounces
– add the water
– reset the scale back to 0 ounces
– slowly sprinkle the lye into the water
– the mixture will heat up to about 200 degrees F
– stir with a heat-proof spoon for 30 seconds
– DON’T inhale directly over the pitcher because it can burn your throat & sinuses
– put the lid on your pitcher
– let it cool down away from kids or pets
– let it cool to 125 degrees F.
Next,
– get a big microwaveable bowl
– measure and melt down the oils in the microwave for up to 8 minutes
– stir to finish melting( avoid over-heating the oils)
– let it cool up to 125 degrees F
– mix it with the Lye Solution.

Next
– line mold with parchment paper
– measure your Essential Oil in a small bowl
– set aside
– prepare the additives

Combine the Base Oils, Lye Solution , Essential Oils and Additives

– when the Lye Solution and your Base Oil temperatures are 125 degrees F pour your Lye Solution into the melted oils
– slowly blend
– mixture will become cloudy and then start to thicken
– in 3-5 minutes the solution reaches a runny pudding-like consistency
– add your Essential Oils
– blend until it is fully incorporated
– add your Colorant and blend
– add Exfoliates or oats and stir with spoon
– work quickly because your mixture will be hardening rapidly
– pour and tap the bottom of your mold against the counter-top to remove the bubbles
– smooth the surface with the back of your spoon,
– cover the mold with plastic wrap
– let it sit for 24 hours in a cool, dry place.

De -Mold Your Soaps and Let Them Cure!

– next day de-mold the soaps
– space them out on a cookie sheet
– cut the soaps
– put them on the cookie sheet
– let them sit for 6 weeks.
