Love this healthy homemade caramel apple and I love to prepare them for my kids.They are my special treat after sunday lunch .And believe me after trying this recipe they will become yours too …
Ingredients

  • 10 large green apples (Granny Smith’s)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup light corn syrup

Preparation:

  • wash and dry the apples completely
  • put a piece of parchment paper and put the apples on it to sit  without touching
  • cut butter into small cubes and melt over low heat
  • add  sugar, corn syrup and condensed milk
  • mix,cook and stir on medium high heat until boiling,
  • reduce heat to medium which should allow for a steady, moderate boil
  • stir constantly for about  30 minutes
  • remove pan from heat
  • stir in vanilla and let the caramel sit for about 5 minutes
  • put a sucker stick or a Popsicle stick in each apple
  • dip each apple in the caramel
  • pull up out of the pan
  • let the excess caramel drip back into pan
  • continue with each apple
  •  additionally decorate as you wish  :chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs etc.
  • let the apple to cool down for 45 minutes.
