One of the worst places to get an itch is inside the ear because it is  impossible to reach .

Ear itchiness are caused by :

  • if you have ear fibers that are sensitive, you will experience more itchiness than the average person
  •  dry skin,
  • ear canal dermatitis (allergic reaction),
  • ear infection,
  • psoriasis
  • use of a hearing aid
  • too much water in the ear

Visit a doctor if you notice bleeding, draining or hearing loss with the itchiness.
Treating itchy ears

REMEDIES: 
1. Alcohol and vinegar:

  • one part rubbing alcohol
  •  one part white vinegar
  • mix well and with a small spoon  drip a little of the mixture into your ear
  • tilt your head sideways
  • let the solution set for a few seconds,
  •  tilt your head the other way and drain
  • note: this will dry out your ear, so keep it to a minimum.

2. Warm oil:

  • warm natural oil (olive, tea tree, coconut or garlic) to a comfortable temperature
  •  add a few drops to your ear
  • tilt your head sideways
  • let the solution set for a few seconds,
  • tilt your head the other way and drain

3. Hydrogen peroxide:

  •  one part hydrogen peroxide
  •  one part water
  • mix and with a small dropper  drip the mixture into your ear
  • let the solution set for a few seconds,
  • tilt your head sideways
  •  tilt your head the other way and drain

4. Aloe vera:

  • you need  three to five drops of gel from an aloe vera plant
  • with a small dropper  drip the mixture into your ear
  • let the solution set for a few seconds
  • tilt your head sideways
  •  tilt your head the other way and drain

5. Homemade elderberry syrup:

RECIPE:

  • 2/3 cup dried black elderberries (about 3 ounces)
  • 3 1/2 cups of water
  • 2 tbs fresh or dried ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons cloves or clove powder
  • 1 cup raw honey (we get from our farmer’s market)

Preparation:

  • Pour water into medium saucepan and add elderberries, ginger, cinnamon and cloves (not the honey)
  • bring it to a boil
  • cover and reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes (the liquid is  reduced by half)
  • remove from heat
  •  let it cool a little
  • mash the berries
  • pour through a strainer into a glass jar or bowl
  • discard the elderberries  and let the liquid cool to lukewarm
  • let it cool and add 1 cup of honey a
  • stir and pour the syrup into a mason jar or a glass bottle
  • store in the fridge
  • eat ½ tsp to 1 tsp for kids and ½ Tbsp to 1 Tbsp for adults
  •  consume it daily to boost your health and for its antiviral properties to  recovery from an ear infection.

If  after using this remedies the  itchy ear persists  talk to a doctor.
